These brightly colored ceramic ashtrays mimic the seductive marketing tactics of Big Tobacco while revealing lungs marked by the four stages of cancer, encircled by a clock of ash. Rooted in personal experience and research on smoking within South Asian communities, the work confronts addiction, mortality, and the false promise of time.

Bound Yet Unbroken reimagines the dupatta as the landscape of Pakistan itself—layered, carved, and transformed into an earthy terrain that holds memory, beauty, and burden at once. Surrounded by hooded clay figures lit from within, the installation reflects how women navigate tradition as both inheritance and constraint, remaining tethered yet resilient.

This teapot is a personal reflection on my Pakistani-American identity, inspired by childhood memories and cultural traditions I once felt distant from but have since embraced. Shaped like a traditional toy trolley and adorned with symbols such as a paan leaf spout, a Parle-G cookie handle, mehndi designs, and the phrase “meri jaan,” the piece brings together fragments of heritage, memory, and love into a single functional form.
